The 5 Critical Things To Do For Your Health And Weight Loss

Oh sure, everyone thinks they've discovered the best diet, or the best food program, or the best exercise regime and, of course, they've also just read the best book ever on "how to improve your health, fitness, or weight loss." But, you know what? There really is no "best" book, "best" diet, "best" food program or "best" exercise regime. There are no right ways or wrong ways to diet. There are, however, 5 critical things that you can do to achieve your optimum health. They are:

1. Continue To Learn About Health, Fitness, Nutrition And Weight Loss From A Wide Variety Of Sources

The first thing we need to do to achieve good health is to take action, learn about it, and put what we learn into practice. Sure, what works for me is great, but it may not work for you or Joe Blow down the block! We can, however, find out what works for us by perusing the wide variety of resources that is available today, expanding our knowledge, and accepting the fact that no one thing is "best" for our health. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance that we keep reading and learning to find out what works for us, and what doesn't.

Remember the following old adage: Knowledge isn't power, but "knowledge in action is power!"

It's actually pretty simple. Our bodies run on food and by giving our bodies the best quality food, in whatever manner that happens to be. By keeping nutrition to a maximum (eating as close to nature as possible -- organic where possible), and eliminating processed foods and trans fats, positive results can be attained.

2. Find A Mentor

Find someone who has "been there, done that" and that can be a role model for you. It's much easier to "cut to the chase," so to speak, and will help speed up finding out what works for your health and weight loss and also what doesn't work.

So, go ahead and find that mentor, that someone who has already walked in your footsteps and knows what you're going through. Do what they did; ask them what worked and what didn't work. By doing what has already been proven to work and skipping what doesn't, you'll be able to save yourself a lot of time.

3. Apply The Knowledge You Learn About Health On A Daily Basis

Okay, now that you have the knowledge, you need to take action. Apply that knowledge you've gained from what you've read about health or watched and by talking with people who have been there before you. Don't fall into the trap of becoming an information junkie that doesn't ever follow through on what they learn. Work on those new health principles you've learned on a daily basis and keep at it! And don't give up! After all, without the trial and error period, you'll soon find yourself getting nowhere fast and you'll never find out what really works or what doesn't work for you.

4. Repeat Steps 1, 2 And 3

This is an important point to remember -- there is no right way or wrong way to lose weight, improve your health or get what you want. It's a continual learning process. Don't be afraid to challenge what you've read. Without trying it and challenging it, you may never know what the results might have been.

To keep learning about health, you'll not only need to keep reading, but you must also apply this newfound knowledge to yourself. How do you do this? By filtering out what doesn't work for you. You see, this isn't about the other gal or guy, this is about "you." Ask yourself the following question: "What will help me achieve my weight loss goals or my health?" Perhaps you've found a controversial fitness principle that others don't think would possibly work, but it may work for you. You won't know this until you try it.

Apply your new knowledge daily, find people who have used that "diet, or exercise, or whatever" program before, what they believed about it, what worked for them, and then see if it will work for you.

5. Never Give Up

Yes, the ultimate secret to health and weight loss is to never give up! So what if you get off track for a few days! Don't beat yourself up about it -- just get right back on track by continually learning, trying new things, going back to what worked and keeping up with your daily fitness routine. Our bodies are designed to move -- so find some way to exercise your body that you can do on a daily basis.

Always keep in mind what you want for your body's good health and continually strive towards keeping that goal. And, above all, never give up!
